Katzensprung

The “Cat’s leap” is a historic wine: As a favourite wine of Austria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs it was part of the preparations and negotiations of the Austrian State Treaty in 1955. Leopold Figl had the keys for Domäne Wachau’s famous Kellerschlössel and often went down to the winecellars to have some of this aromatic wine. Maybe the black cat brought him luck or charmed the other politicians – the treaty was signed successfully.
